The Lion Cubs Mathematical Contest believes that every child's effort is valued. Awards are determined after the Olympiad is completed, and every participant who completes at least one task is guaranteed an award.

At the Lion Cubs Mathematical Contest, we believe that every child who steps up to a mathematical challenge deserves recognition. Our awards system is designed to celebrate excellence while ensuring that no participant goes unrecognised.
Awards are determined after the Olympiad is completed and results are verified. Each participant is placed in exactly one award category based on their performance within their age group.

Diploma Winner
Highest Honour
Awarded to the top scorer from each team (school). The Diploma Winner is the student who achieved the highest individual score among all participants from their school. If a school enters multiple age groups, a Diploma Winner is selected per group. This is the most prestigious individual award in the contest.
Certificate of Merit
Top 10%
Awarded to students who score in the top 10% of their age group nationally. These students demonstrated exceptional mathematical reasoning, strong problem-solving skills, and consistency across all sections of the paper. The Certificate of Merit marks a truly outstanding achievement.
Honorable Mention
Top 50%
Awarded to students who score in the top 50% of their age group nationally (excluding those who received a Certificate of Merit). These students performed above average and showed solid mathematical ability. An Honorable Mention recognises meaningful achievement and effort.
Certificate of Participation
All Remaining Participants
Every student who participates in the contest and completes at least one task but does not fall in the categories above receives a Certificate of Participation. This award acknowledges the student's willingness to take on a mathematical challenge and celebrates their courage in participating.

All certificates are generated digitally and made available for download through the Team Leaders Portal.
Team Leaders (teachers) download the certificates and present them to students during school assemblies or awards days.
Diploma Winners receive additional recognition on the LCMC website and social media channels.
