How to prepare your child for the Lion Cubs Mathematical Contest.

Dear Parents & Guardians

Thank you for your interest in the Lion Cubs Mathematical Contest (LCMC). The best way for your child to participate is by joining their school's team. Please ask your child's teacher whether the school hosts the contest and how your child can be included.

If the school is not yet participating, you are welcome to share our Invitation Letter with them. Many schools first learned about LCMC thanks to proactive parents who helped introduce the contest to their communities.

Individual Online Participation

If joining a school team is not possible, students may participate in our online contest. In this case:

  • check_circle Parents serve as the Team Leader and oversee the contest at home or at any location they choose during the official testing window.
  • check_circle Students will receive their raw score and can see how they compare with peers.
  • check_circle Scores earned through individual participation are not considered official and do not qualify for awards, but the experience is still valuable and enriching.

info This option ensures that every motivated student has a chance to challenge themselves and enjoy the contest, even if their school is not participating.

Why It's Worth It

The contest presents students with creative mathematical problems that differ from standard schoolwork, helping them develop critical thinking and mathematical creativity.

Practice papers are available on the website, and three additional sets are provided for free after registration.
